On Monday 13 April, the Scottish Government published three new guidance documents:
- Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance for funeral directors
(This guidance is for funeral directors to help manage their services during the Coronavirus pandemic.)
- Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance for burial and cremation authorities
(This guidance is for burial and cremation authorities to help manage their services and also their funeral services during the current pandemic.)
- Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance for funeral services
(This guidance explains what restrictions are currently in place for funeral services and wider public health guidance relevant for funeral services.)
The Scottish Government also confirmed it is “seeking assistance from the Additional Deaths Oversight Group Funeral Industry Sector representatives on what may be possible at the local and regional levels to address funeral industry sector PPE supply concerns.” and that this work will take place this week.
