HM Treasury has extended the period during which VAT is not payable on Personal Protective Equipment until October, following a request from the NAFD.
The supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to all those employees who needed it, from the onset of the pandemic, was one of the key challenges that faced the Government, NHS and private firms alike.
The NAFD has presented a summary of the key issues faced by the profession to the Government – along with five suggested next steps – to try and prevent a recurrence going forward should there be a second or future pandemic peak, help to support responsible PPE providers and weed out the many unscrupulous suppliers that have entered the market place.
One of the requests we made was for an extension of the VAT exemption on PPE.
